Very rare original hand written letter by Duke of Wellington (Arthur Wellesley 1769-1852) as a British Prime Minister, signed and dated 27th November 1834.

The letter relates to a very short period of only three weeks in November-December 1834, when Wellington acted as a Prime Minister, replacing the absent Robert Peel.
Written on both sides and mounted between glass. The letter discusses a financial reward in an arson case. Addressed as a response to Charles Day in the Chapter Coffee House in London. The original letter sent by the Reverend Charles Day to the government on the 26th November is kept in the National Archives at Kew.

Condition: Folds and paper splits with three acid free tape repairs. Wooden frame scratched.
