Fine quality nut cracker in polished steel with engraved and gilded floral decoration, the handle is spring loaded and fitted with a lock. Antique Indian from the 19th century. Originally this was a betel nut cutter – the nut popular in the South East Asia. Can be used as a nut cracker but is also a fine tool as a champagne bottle foil cutter.
